Psalms 75

God Abases the Proud, but Exalts the Righteous.

For the choir director; set to
Lit Do Not Destroy
Al-tashheth. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song.

1 We bgive thanks to You, O God, we give thanks,
For Your name is cnear;
Men declare dYour wondrous works.
2When I select an eappointed time,
It is I who fjudge with equity.
3“The gearth and all who dwell in it
Or totter
melt;
It is I who have firmly set its ipillars.
Selah may mean: Pause, Crescendo or Musical interlude
Selah.
4I said to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’
And to the wicked, ‘ kDo not lift up the horn;
5Do not lift up your horn on high,
lDo not speak with insolent
Lit neck
pride.’”

6For not from the east, nor from the west,
Nor from the
Or mountainous desert
,
odesert comes exaltation;
7But pGod is the Judge;
He qputs down one and exalts another.
8For a rcup is in the hand of the Lord, and the wine foams;
It is
Lit full of mixture
,
twell mixed, and He pours out of this;
Surely all the wicked of the earth must drain and udrink down its dregs.

9But as for me, I will vdeclare it forever;
I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10And all the whorns of the wicked
Heb I
He will cut off,
But ythe horns of the righteous will be lifted up.
